An important address regarding the future

Hello all, here I am coming with a bit of serious news. As I was pretty much only learning when I was developing the first alpha of Beyond the Sphere, you can imagine the code is *very* spaghetti. For that reason, I'm opting to stop the development of the current BtS version, and start from scratch. Since managing an alpha while heavily developing the game, there also won't be much of an early access sadly. I'm currently evaluating the option of writing my own engine, which would make it more customizable for the purposes we need specifically.
The new version will thus:
- Maybe be on an in-house engine
- Most likely include pixel art instead of vector art
- Have a few open betas to test stuff out, but no prolonged early access
- Be a lot more detailed
I hope that you understand this decision. I believe that it's the right one to be made here, as with the current codebase, it's inevitable. The current version will stay on Itch until the first alpha preview of the new version. Thank you.
